Growing presence, trailers expansion and full-service leasing are in the mix

Continued growth in the transport sector throughout the past two Covid-affected years has created a need for evolving customised fleet solutions and a rental and leasing market that has never been busier, according to PacLease Australia General Manager Andrew Molnar.

The market uncertainty surrounding transport contracts and new vehicle availability has led to unseasonably high truck rental utilisation and a larger focus on flexible fleet solutions to the market.

“2021 was an incredibly exciting year for the PacLease brand as a whole. The high inbound demand and fleet utilisation led to unexpected fleet growth and increase in branching resources, it also gave us some really important points to reflect on to determine how we could set ourselves up to take advantage of and sustain this growth in the next 2-3 years,” notes Molnar.

NEW LOCATIONS

2022 is seemingly an even more exciting year, with the successful onboarding of remaining dealers in the Kenworth DAF dealer network to operate the PacLease product.

“The next 12 months will see PacLease welcome all remaining PACCAR dealer groups into the family,” says Molnar.

“This will increase our operation by a further seven branches to support our growing regional customer base.”

The introduction of the new branches will see a growth to 26 branches nationally offering the PacLease product.

PACLEASE RENTAL TRAILERS

PacLease Brisbane has had trailer rental and leasing on offer for a number of years now, and 2021 saw the successful implementation of the trailer rental business out of PacLease Sydney. 2022 will see further trailer rental growth in Victoria.

“From May 2022, PacLease will be offering trailer rental in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria in an attempt to continue growth and diversification of the PacLease market offering,” says Molnar.

Available in all three states will be a mix of Krueger and MaxiTrans products with multiple trailer applications and combinations.

FULL SERVICE LEASING

One of the biggest factors affecting road transport in the past 12 months has been lead times on new vehicles for operators.

In an attempt to promote growth in 2022, PacLease has successfully obtained sufficient stock of Kenworth and DAF product to continue to supply their rental fleets, as well as to support their sales teams in the continued growth of full-service lease business.

“In an endeavour to stick to our core values of supporting the rental market with a premium product and modern fleet, PacLease has managed to secure sufficient Kenworth and DAF stock throughout 2022 to update and grow our rental fleet without sacrificing our premium quality offering,” says Molnar.

The stock numbers will also allow PacLease to promote its already successful full-service leasing program.

At the Brisbane Truck Show 2021, PacLease launched the DAF CF530 lease program to great success, with Molnar noting that “the 2021 DAF lease program gave fleet operators a taste of full-service leasing without the normal longer term commitment associated with leasing.

‘With the fleet we have set aside to grow the full-service lease product in 2022, we believe we will be able to convert some traditional outright purchase fleets that may have a need to update their fleet or add additional vehicles but may not have access to them due to increased lead times.”
